In the Book of Odes, it is written that, “From high above, God (Huang Yi Shangdi) surveys the four corners and answers the woes of the people.” Since completion of work on the main temple, the Five lords had called for construction of Lingxiao Hall. They had already chosen the location, on a rise within Tiger Garden. The temple’s administrative committee was active in making overall arrangements and reviewing many submitted proposals. After a half century in the works, ground was broken on the site on April 17th, 1993. Construction is now in phase 3, with the installation of new structures. Lingxiao Hall adopted a southern Chinese temple design, with a raised central altar area dedicated to the worship of the Jade Emperor. An annex to the side is reserved for the worship of Xiantian Shangshen. Two other spaces include an imperial audience room and Qifu Pavilion. Covered walkways bound Qifu Pavilion on two sides, and a walkway connects the entire Lingxiao Hall area to the Daitian Temple, ensuring the integration of both as part of the growing Nankunshen Daitian Temple complex.
