Walking up from Haishan Pavilion and past Lingxiao Hall takes you to the end of the pathway – a ridge topped by a row of boulders jutting heavenward. This is ‘Tiger Rise’. This area was designed and installed under the sole direction of Mr. Chang Ching-shun of the Chia Chia Transport Company in Jiayi City. It was dedicated in March 1982. Today, Tiger Rise conceals behind a stunning façade, the tremendous engineering effort that went into its construction.
Tiger Rise looks out over Jishui Stream and meets up with the Five Lords Levee. Boulders, tilted at various angles, create an engaging and tranquil landscape. From atop the Canghai Watchtower, visitors can take in expansive views of Jishui Stream and the rippling waters of the Taiwan Strait further distant.
