Watching Carp from Haishan Pavilion

Watching Carp from Haishan Pavilion

Walking north from Kun Garden takes you to an elegant pavilion set into the middle of a lake and connected to the shore by a delicately arched bridge. Haishan Pavilion, located within Haishanlou, was completed in the lunar month of September, 1957, with funds donated by Mr. Lin Hai-shui of Budai Township in Jiayi County. The pavilion casts a playful reflection on lake waters, while colorful carp kick up ripples as they move about, hopeful for a handout from passersby.
